(LOT 877)
"Unique for the Grade" 1958 Topps #378 Hank Sauer PSA 10 GEM MINT – "POP 1"; The SOLE Highest Graded Example!

Hard-hitting left-fielder Hank Sauer played 15 seasons in the National League, with his finest campaign being 1952 with the Cubbies when he claimed the N.L. MVP Award via his outstanding 37 homers and 121 runs batted in. He ended his stellar career with the San Francisco Giants in 1959, belting nearly 300 round-trippers and posting a formidable .843 OPS. One of his finest cardboard treats is this spectacular PSA 10 GEM MINT 1958 Topps treasure that just happens to stand alone at the top of the illustrious PSA "Pop" Chart! Indeed, of the 300+ PSA encapsulated copies, this is the SOLE specimen to be awarded the pinnacle "10" assessment. One look at this museum worthy offering immediately justifies its "POP 1" standing, staring with the imposing Sauer portrait pose that is flanked by a radiant yellow backdrop. Near-perfect centering (with the slightest hint of partiality towards the upper edge) between four blinding white borders, pack-fresh surfaces and pristine right-angled corners complete this masterpiece that rightfully earns eternal bragging rights for its new owner!
