(LOT 789)
"Unique for the Grade" 1958 Topps #24 Hobie Landrith Yellow Name Letters PSA 9 MINT – "POP 1"; The SOLE Highest Graded PSA Example!

Fine defensive catcher Hobie Landrith played 14 MLB seasons with seven different ballclubs, with this remarkable 1958 Topps #24 Bill Tuttle PSA 9 MINT "Yellow Name Letters" offering one of his finest existing cardboard keepsakes. A "POP 1" marvel, its proudly stands alone at the top of the illustrious PSA population report, besting all of its approximate 170 peers! Landrith's stoic portrait pose is set against a striking blood-orange background that steals the show. The crystal-clear illustration is flanked by four bright white borders ending at a blistering sharp perimeter, with the four right-angled corners, and impeccable surfaces additional superlatives for this timeless heirloom. The more obscure "Hobie Landrith" yellow-name situated above his image exhibits perfect focus (PSA has graded 220+ "white letters" with only some 170 "yellow letters"), the final exclamation point for one of the most significant 9 MINT commons in the wonderful 1958 Topps gathering!
