1933 Goudey #1 SIGNED Benny Bengough (To Jimmie Kahs) – PSA AUTHENTIC - One of Only 3 PSA Encapsulated Specimens!
Presented here is a 1933 Goudey card presented to ardent collector Jimmie Kahs, with this #1 Benny Bengough offering signed as follows: "To Jimmie Kahs – With Best Wishes – Benny Bengough." Of great interest is that Jimmie Kahs just happened to be one of the pioneers of assembling signed Goudey Gum cards, actively pursuing these autographed subjects some 80+ years ago. Scripted in black fountain pen, a majority of the autograph is affixed to Bengough's classic chest protector, and while there are a number of stray creases and paper loss on the flipside, the critical central image has eluded any glaring flaws. One of only three known PSA examples, it stands as one of the rarest signed Goudey's extant, and justifying its highly coveted stature is another example fetching $4.1K in August 2020. Interestingly enough, Bengough's would play his final MLB game on September 24, 1932 for the Browns, with the Goudey Gum Company still deciding to place him as the #1 subject in their landmark 1933 set!
