(LOT 31)
1909 T206 Ty Cobb Portrait - Green - Sweet Caporal 150/30 Reverse PSA 4 VG-EX

COBB IN GREEN!!! Pre-war enthusiasts would surely agree that one of the "hottest" collectibles in the card market is the revered T206 "Green Portrait" that is seemingly realizing record prices with each and every sale. Incredibly, mid-grade examples are one of the hobby's most coveted of tobacco cards. Of the four T206 Cobb issues, the most coveted and most valuable subject for that matter features a Green Portrait pose portraying Carl Horner's seemingly timeless Cobb image. The highly desirable issuance has been on virtually every elite enthusiast's "Top 10" list including PSA's "Top 250 Sports Cards". His playing brilliance earned him a place in Cooperstown when the Baseball Writers of America chose him as one the five original 1936 Hall of Fame charter members alongside Babe Ruth, Honus Wagner, Christy Mathewson and Walter Johnson. Along with Ruth and "Shoeless" Joe Jackson, no pre-war Hall of Famer carries the prestige among sophisticated hobbyists than the immortal "Georgia Peach".

Presented here just happens to be a PSA 4 VG-EX Green Portrait Cobb with a Sweet Caporal 150/30. This relatively well centered Cobb card is one to own. The bright green background highlights Cobb's youthful appearance and the lightly toned white borders outline this gem of a collectible. No obtrusive surface flaws are evident with minimal wear along the edges and corners. The reverse includes a bold red Sweet Caporal advertisement. This is undoubtedly one to own for any and all Cobb collectors. Get this for your collection today!
