(LOT 1751)
1948 Marilyn Monroe "Ladies of the Chorus" 7-1/2" x 9-1/4" PSA Original Type 1 Encapsulated Photograph with PSA LOA - Marilyn's First Major Role!

The offered PSA encapsulated photo features Marilyn Monroe at center in her first starring role as an actress. The story of a young chorus girl who falls in love with a wealthy young man only to be threatened by her mother's fear of "what people might say." At only 22, Marilyn's burgeoning career was about to take off as this stepping-stone led to lead roles in hit like "The Concrete Jungle" and "All About Eve" in 1950. Monroe's star power would reach stratospheric heights when in the early 1950s she would star in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", "How to Marry a Millionaire" and "The Seven Year Itch".

And let's not forget that she married New York Yankees superstar Joe DiMaggio in 1955 as well. The offered 7-1/2" x 9-1/4" image features the "Ladies of the Chorus" in a Columbia Pictures press photo with then-America's sweetheart kneeling front and center. The borderless image shows surface and edge wear as well as minor corner and edge chipping. The reverse displays a paper caption, though slightly folded in encapsulation, with some paper caption removal apparent. Minimal photographer notations also present. PSA LOA included.
