1936 Joe DiMaggio "ROOKIE" (with Lazzeri & Crosetti) PSA Type 1 Encapsulated Christy Walsh Syndicate Photo 1936 World Series - Measures Approximately 8" x 10" Christy Walsh Estate LOA

The 1936 season would mark the unprecedented emergence of the immortal "Joltin' Joe" DiMaggio, and the highly touted Yankee rookie sensation would certainly not disappoint his newly fascinated fan base, clouting 29 round-trippers and knocking in 125 runs while leading the Bronx Bombers to their first World Championship in four years. Led by an astonishing six Cooperstown inductees on the playing field (Gehrig, DiMaggio, Dickey, Ruffing, Lazzeri, and Gomez) as well as their Hall of Fame manager and coach, Joe McCarthy and Earl Combs, respectively, the Yankees would win 102 games, coasting to the American League pennant. The Fall Classic would then see the "Bronx Bombers" capture the first of four consecutive championships, besting their cross-town rival New York Giants in six games.

This absolutely breathtaking 1936 PSA Type 1 offering portrays the 21-year-old Yankee Clipper with Tony Lazzeri, Frank Crosetti and Christy Walsh before Game 1 of the '36 Fall Classic that was eventually postponed due to rain. Other than some stray light wrinkles, the imposing 8" x 10" image has retained a majority of its original factory issued attributes including outstanding contrast and clarity. Lazzeri is positioned on the far left, followed by Walsh, Crosetti and "Joltin' Joe", with the three players donning their New York road-gray flannels. The verso reveals a caption listing all of the individuals, dubbing them "Walsh and three famous Italian friends", as well as several notations including a scripted note stating: "1936 World Series Polo Grounds before it rained First Game - Sept. 29th". A truly captivating heirloom from the Yankee Clipper's 1936 rookie season, it stands as a monumental testament to a player who is widely regarded as one of the greatest centerfielders in baseball history! - Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Christy Walsh Estate
