(LOT 1721)
1927 Babe Ruth Laughing with James Bradbury, Sr. on the Set of "Babe Comes Home" 8" x 10" PSA Encapsulated Type 1 A First National Pictures with PSA LOA

"Babe Comes Home" was the second movie of Babe Ruth's illustrious career as a thespian and was a box office hit as A First National Pictures release at the opening of the 1927 season (May 22). Ruth's semi-biographical character, Babe Dugan, was an overindulgent ballplayer who's laundress attempts to reform the uninhibited baseball star. Playing alongside a veteran cast including Anna Q. Nilsson, who plays Vernie his love interest, and the likes of Guinn Williams, James Gordon and James Bradbury, Sr. Presented is a 1927 press photo featuring Ruth laughing beside comic foil and teammate Bradbury, Sr. on set with each donning their Los Angeles Angels uniforms.

The image shows expected edge and corner wear, with a small crease at the bottom left corner and little surface wear save for an insignificant mark above Bradbury's head. The back still holds the paper caption "Babe Comes Home" as well as a Helms Athletic Foundation stamp and photographer notations. Included is a signed letter of authenticity from Vice President of Parkman Productions, Inc., Patricia Walsh, daughter-in-law of Ruth's longtime agent Christy Walsh. PSA/DNA LOA attached.
