Jackie Robinson Handwritten Signed Letter PSA/DNA Encapsulated & JSA LOA
This is one of three letters we are offering in this auction, signed by Jackie Robinson. With this letter comes some extra memorabilia from a scrap book once belonging to Pee Wee Reese and Duke Snider Fan Club President, Miss Margaret "Peggy" Dwyer. Scrap book page includes a couple of B&W snapshots and Erv Palica's 1951 Bowman Card #189 (Palica is mentioned in the letter). This letter reads, "Dear Peg, Thank you for your very nice letter. We are proud to have such an ardent rooter cheering us on and hope that we are able to win for you. I know that Pee Wee is glad you are pulling for him to hit .300 and I (unintelligible) he is not only a swell ballplayer but a great fellow. I am proud to be playing alongside of him. As for the fastest pitcher it's hard to say but I think Palica is just as fast as the others you mentioned. I expect to have a program this winter and would like very much to have "Pee Wee" on but I am afraid he will be in Louisville by the time it starts".
