In 1909, three candy manufactures (Dockman & Sons, Crofts Candy and Crofts Cocoa) used the same 40 baseball player checklist to advertise their candy brands. Ultra-popular with collectors. a myriad of legendary Cooperstown Inductees are included in these sets with the immortal Cy Young's magnificent Dockman & Sons subject offered here in a PSA EX+ 5.5 holder. The SOLE specimen at this "unique for the grade" tier, only 5 examples have managed to surpass this mid-grade marvel! They named an award after the great Cy Young, and this candy card of the legendary right hander, likewise, certainly merits an award for its extreme rarity.

Cy Young established the benchmark for all other pitchers to chase for it is unfathomable to think about a pitcher even approaching 300 wins ever again, let alone Young's incomparable 511 wins! Portraying a gray Cleveland uniform, Young's seemingly flawless pitching delivery image is set against a bold sunburst orange background, reflecting superior clarity and robust hues. Atypical for this type card, the image exhibits near-perfect centering between four bright white borders, with even corner wear and a diminutive soiling spot situated above Young's cap the primary culprits preventing an even higher assessment. While you cannot win# 512 to Cy's lifetime victory total, you should try your hardest to emulate the iconic Young by winning one of his more eclectic mid-grade mementos!
