1915 Cracker Jack #17 Roger Bresnahan SGC 9 MINT
HOF NAME!!! One of the most prestigious baseball cards ever produced were the Cracker Jack cardboard relics included in the caramel candy boxes in 1914 and 1915. Loaded with many of our National Pastime's Cooperstown inductees, one of those players, Hall of Fame catcher Roger Bresnahan, is presented here in a "jaw-dropping" SGC Mint 9 holder. One of only two specimens at this stratospheric plateau, it currently shares the spotlight with a few other examples as the finest of its kind on BOTH the PSA and SGC pop charts! Bresnahan is regarded as the first catcher to wear shin guards in a major league game in 1907, and is also the first catcher ever to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Originally brought up to the Major Leagues as a standout pitcher, Bresnahan actually tossed a six-hit shutout in his Major League debut against the St. Louis Browns in 1897. It is virtually incomprehensible that a 106-year old cardboard artifact could possibly retain nearly all of its original factory issued attributes. Yet, one look at this supreme offering's breathtaking aesthetics substantiates its miraculous grade and pinnacle standing!
