1965 Gale Sayers PSA Type 1 Encapsulated Photo – Image Used for Sayer's Rookie 1966 Philadelphia Card #38 Subject - Measures Approx. 8" x 10"

This spectacular 1965 Gale Sayers PSA Type 1 Photo was the exact image used for Sayer's legendary 1966 Philadelphia football card #38 subject! Indeed, this 55-year old masterpiece portraying Sayers in a classic running pose reveals the Hall of Fame half-back holding a football as he "high-steps" his way towards another touchdown. Gale Sayers only played seven NFL seasons, but his unparalleled impact on the game will forever "echo for eternity". Although serious knee injuries curtailed his outstanding career, his uncanny broken-field running style enabled him to set a vast number of standards still unsurpassed by any other player including 22 rookie touchdowns, 6 touchdowns in a single game (tied by a handful of players), and the highest career kickoff return average (30.56 per return).

Elected to the all-decade 1960's team, in 1999 "The Sporting News" voted Sayers the 22nd greatest NFL player ever, and he was voted into the Hall of Fame in 1977. As a perfect testament for his incomparable grid-iron stature, this awe-inspiring image offers the finest possible clarity and contrast, as well as a relatively clean obverse side surface that reflects only a few extremely faint scratches. Similar to Gale Sayers "on the field" exploits, now is your golden opportunity to score a touchdown of your own by seizing this extraordinary illustration that was utilized for his highly coveted 1966 Philadelphia #38 cardboard issue!
