Extremely Rare c.1950's Bob Feller Image Used for his 1953 Topps #54 Subject - PSA Type I Encapsulated Cleveland Indians Photo – Measures Approx. 4-7/8" x 7"

Here is one that rarely surfaces for the taking! This PSA Type 1 portrait photo of the legendary Cooperstown Inductee Bob Feller just happens to be the EXACT IMAGE utilized for his classic 1953 Topps #54 Subject. Originally issued in the early 1950's, the illustration portrays remarkable clarity, as the fire-balling right-hander provides the camera with a splendid candid smile. Donning his period-style Cleveland Indians flannels and cap, while the photo does exhibit a series of stray wrinkles, none of them are obtrusive and do not impede the brilliant aesthetics emanating from this highly coveted keepsake. The final superlative is the bold black "BOB FELLER – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians" credit stamp on the verso that also includes several pencil notations and a few tape remnants near the upper edge.

"Rapid" Bob Feller will always be considered one of the greatest right-handed twirlers the game has ever seen. Winner of 266 games, Feller utilized a blazing fastball that approached 100 mph as well as a nasty curveball to tantalize hitters most of his career. Had it not been for losing nearly four full seasons due to joining the Navy in WWII, he would have easily posted another 70-80 wins to his already significant total. It therefore comes as little surprise that this spectacular offering stands as a world renowned 1953 Topps world-class heirloom via its undisputable stature as the exact image appearing on Feller's renowned 1953 Topps subject!
