1936 New York Yankees World Champions Team Image – PSA Type 1 Encapsulated ACME Newspictures Photo – Includes 8 Hall of Famers w/a "Rookie" Joe DiMaggio & Lou Gehrig - Measures Approx. 7" x 9" – PSA Type I LOA

The 1936 season would see the Yankees call up their star centerfielder Joseph Paul DiMaggio and he would quickly join Yankee captain Lou Gehrig in leading the Yankees to their first World Series appearance since 1932. Led by an astonishing six Cooperstown Inductees on the playing field (Gehrig, DiMaggio, Dickey, Ruffing, Lazzeri, and Gomez) as well as their Hall of Fame manager (Joe McCarthy) and coach (Earl Combs); the Yankees would win 102 games and coast to the American League pennant. The Fall Classic would then see the "Bronx Bombers" capture the first of four consecutive championships, besting the New York Giants in six games. This 1936 Yankees PSA Type 1 ACME Newspictures photo stands as the perfect testament for that juggernaut ballclub, with all nine of the aforementioned Hall of Famers portrayed in this classic offering. Of utmost significance is a "rookie" Joe DiMaggio and the immortal "Iron Horse", who combined to terrorize American League hurlers to the tune of 78 round-trippers and 277 R.B.I.'s!

Indeed, it certainly appeared as if the Yankees young budding superstar "Joltin Joe" had filled the gaping void resulting from a retired Babe Ruth, with the Yankee Clipper and Gehrig forming a new "dynamic duo" that would ultimately lead the Yankees to four consecutive World Titles. Measuring approximately 7" x 9", the crystal-clear image exhibits no obtrusive flaws, with the only negligible blemishes being standard corner wear as well as several creases near the upper left and lower right corners. Simply stated, the sparkling central image is absolutely breathtaking, defying "father-time" for the past 85 years. The final exclamation point is the critical flipside caption that lists all 28 names included on the obverse side image. This outstanding Yankees team image truly resides as a momentous depiction of the seemingly "unbeatable" 1936 Yankee squad that reads like a "who's who" for our National Pastime's illustrious Hall of Fame and, most significantly, stands as a bona-fide Joe DiMaggio "rookie" photo!
