1929 Babe Ruth & Claire Hodgson are Newlyweds! – PSA Type 1 Matted & Framed Underwood & Underwood Photo – Measures Approx. 6-1/2" x 8-1/2" – PSA Type I LOA

On April 17, 1929, the immortal George Herman Ruth married Claire Hodgson, his second and final wife who would ultimately complete the void in the "Sultan of Swat's" illustrious life. As a perfect wedding gift, the "Babe" would wallop a home run the following day in the season's opener against the Boston Red Sox in his first at bat of the season, with his inaugural homer of the season off of Red Ruffing deposited into Yankee Stadium's left field grandstands.

This magnificent PSA Type 1 Underwood & Underwood photo portrays the Bambino smacking his new bride with a kiss on this renowned opening day, and the critical caption reveals the aforementioned Ruth opening day round-tripper in his first at-bat of the season. The Yankees would go on to best Boston by a 7-3 score, with Lou Gehrig also clouting his first dinger of the season in the sixth inning. Depicting outstanding eye appeal, the crystal-clear image has been neatly matted and framed along with the significant caption detailing the day's events. A captivating illustration, it serves as a sheer reminder of the Bambino's impeccable timing and how he could conjure up one of his awe-inspiring long balls at the most momentous times!
