(LOT 42)
Group of (323) 1909 T206 Different Cards PSA Registered with a 2.039 GPA 62.12% Complete

Presented here is a 1909 T206 near-set that includes 323 or 62% of the 520 possible subjects. Ranked #46 on the prestigious list of PSA Registered Sets, it currently stands at a 2.039 G.P.A., with the entire group residing at an overall "Good" level. The iconic T206 Set certainly needs no introduction, unquestionably standing as the foremost baseball card compilation in the hobby. Synonymous with a roaring tsunami, its highly celebrated stature continues to steamroll ahead, with a seemingly infinite number of passionate hobbyists diligently pursuing the goal of assembling an entire set. When the American Tobacco Company (ATC) released their iconic tobacco issue in 1909, little did anyone realize over a century later, the 524 possible subjects would ultimately reside as an "industry leader", with its unparalleled popularity captivating an entire collecting community.

Not even prestigious issues such as the 1914 Cracker Jacks, 1933 Goudeys or 1952 Topps can remotely compare to the pinnacle distinction associated with the ATC's "Monster Set" that includes a myriad of player variations and tobacco ad back combinations that relentlessly drive the insatiable tobacco market. Also contributing to the T206 craze are the incredible array of sparkling/bright colored hues utilized by the various factories to promote their cigarette products. It is unfathomable to think that many of the surviving subjects have managed to defy "Father Time", miraculously getting into a PSA holder. One of the hobby's daunting tasks is to accumulate a large group of the aforementioned 524 total subjects. Needless to say, most typical household budgets are unable to stretch the boundaries of seizing any of these aforementioned four cardboard icons, so collectors are more than satisfied with assembling a large group of over 300 cards. With that in mind, the aforementioned offering includes 323 PSA Graded subjects (62.12% complete) that total to a 2.039 GPA would suffice as a sensational gathering for even the sophisticated enthusiast.

Most impressively, every card has been encapsulated by PSA, with the set listed as the 46th finest compilation on the Current PSA Set Registry. What this spectacular offering accomplishes is provide any tobacco collector with a "large" gathering under a single PSA grading service umbrella, eliminating the excruciating task of having to "crossover" a significant number of subjects to either grading company. The 323 cards are offered in PSA grades 1 thru 4 with the bulk of the players being commons. The cards have common backs and include the following grades: 2 PSA 1 (MK), 44 PSA 1, 63 PSA 1.5, 1 PSA 1.5 (MC), 2 PSA 1.5 (MK), 129 PSA 2, 2 PSA 2 (MK), 32 PSA 2.5, 4 PSA 3, 3 PSA 3 (MC), 2 PSA 3.5, 35 PSA 4, 1 PSA 4 (MK), 2 PSA 4.5 & 1 PSA 5 (MK). Just a few Hall of Famer including Jennings Portrait PSA 4, Lajoie Portrait PSA 1.5 (MC), Lajoie Throwing PSA 1, Lajoie with Bat PSA 1 & McGraw Glove at Hip PSA 4. The balance are all commons. Please got to Memory Lanes Website to view a link of all of the cards & grades. Great group for the vintage cards collector!!! Additional postage added to this lot.
