Dizzy Dean Signed PSA Authenticated/Encapsulated Photo – Measures Approx. 8" x 10" – Full JSA LOA
This magnificent Dizzy Dean portrait photo has been signed by the popular Cooperstown Inductee and encapsulated/authenticated by PSA (also includes a full JSA LOA). The boldly scripted salutation has been entirely penned in Dean's hand with a black fountain pen ("8/9" strength) and reads as follows: "To a real fiend – Jamie Renner – From "Dizzy" Dean." The classic portrait illustration presents itself in breathtaking fashion, with a "Vic Stevenson" credit marking situated near the lower left corner. Had it not been for a line drive that broke his toe in the 1937 All Star Game (off the bat of Earl Averill), Dizzy Dean could have been one of the top ten pitchers of all-time.
Even so, Dean's accomplishments merited him unquestionable membership into baseball's illustrious HOF. Dean still stands as the last National League pitcher to win 30 games, a feat he accomplished in the Cardinals 1934 championship season. From a personality standpoint, Dizzy Dean was considered by many as the closest "good-natured" athlete to the immortal Babe Ruth, with his "upbeat" moods and pure love for the game making him ultra-popular with a myriad of avid baseball fans. It is that jovial-like persona emanating from this outstanding scripted offering, with Dean's cheerful smile solidifying the notion that "a picture is worth a thousand words!"
