1894 N302 Mayo's Poe Princeton PSA 5 EX
POP 2!!! This Mayo Plug card was issued on 1894. Nielson Poe on the front. He was nicknamed "Net" by his teammates, and was a 5' 4" halfback and quarterback who played Football at Princeton (1895-1896). He was one of six Poe brothers to play for the elite college. Neilson was named after his paternal Grandfather who was the second cousin and close associate of the famous American author Edgar Allen Poe. Poe graduated from the University of Maryland in 1900 with a law degree and later served in World War 1, where he received the Distinguished Service Cross. This Mayo Plug card is one of just a pair in the PSA 5 holder with one card grading higher. Issued 126 years ago!!!
