(LOT 211)
1909 T206 Joe Tinker "Hands on Knees" – Piedmont 150 Subjects/Factory 25 (PSA EX/MT 6)

The prestige associated with the Chicago Cub's iconic "Tinker to Evers to Chance" double play combination will forever be embedded in baseball folklore, and unequivocal legacy that effectively transcends us to the "turn of the 20th century!" That formidable three assisted Chicago in winning 3 consecutive pennants from 1906 – 1908 along with two World Series victories over Ty Cobb's Detroit Tigers in 1907 and 1908. Therefore, it is not surprising that when the American Tobacco Company (ATC) issued there prestigious T206 tobacco card series, four separate cards/poses of the Hall of Fame shortstop Joe Tinker were included between 1909 and 1911.

With that in mind, presented here is a superb PSA EX/MT 6 Joe Tinker "Hands on Knees" T206 keepsake that includes a Piedmont 150 Subjects/Factory 25 ad back. Tinker's bright illustration depicts bright and rich hues, highlighted by a brilliant yellow/green setting. While this example's corners appear consistent with a "NM" specimen, unfortunately the somewhat skewed centering (favoring the upper left edges) and soiling along the upper right borders prevent a higher assessment. Completing this 111-year old marvel is a bold blue Piedmont 150 Subjects ad back, the final compliment for one of the T206 set's highly coveted subjects who stands as one of our National Pastime's legendary heroes!
