Since no 1908 Speaker Rose Postcard has ever been officially confirmed, Speakers 1909 tobacco gem is "the Speaker cardboard issue that enthusiasts consider a "must have" for either their esteemed rookie card or T206 compilations and why not? Simply stated, the "Gray Eagle", Speaker's popular nickname, was one of the greatest centerfielder's that ever graced a ball field. Over a 22-year career, primarily with Boston and Cleveland, he accumulated 3,514 hits, including 792 doubles and 222 triples to the tune of a .345 lifetime batting average.
