(LOT 159)
1934 Babe Ruth, Lefty Gomez & Red Ruffing PSA Type I Encapsulated International News Photo - Measures Approx. 6-1/2" x 8-1/2"

The 1934 season would mark the final time that the incomparable George Herman "Babe" Ruth would wear a Yankees uniform as an MLB player. This extremely obscure offering just happens to portray the "Babe" walking off the field with fellow Hall of Fame teammates Lefty Gomez and Red Ruffing after one of the doubleheader games that were played on August 19, 1934 against the St. Louis Browns. The verso's International News Photo stamp includes an August 20, 1934 date. The 6-1/2" x 8-1/2" image reveals crystal clear clarity and superb contrast, with no glaring flaws whatsoever. Some minimal toning barely visible to the naked eye and a few faint wrinkles are the only negligible blemishes with the verso including a small caption mentioning these three Cooperstown inductees leaving the field after the game. A neat offering portraying the immortal "Sultan of Swat", it serves as a steadfast reminder of how Ruth's unparalleled Yankee career sadly came to a close after the 1934 campaign!
