(LOT 154)
c.1920's Babe Ruth Speaks to a Large Crowd of Captivated Kids - PSA Type I Encapsulated Photo – Measures Approx. 7" x 9"

It is no secret that Ruth absolutely adored children, with his utmost affections for children most likely stemming from his volatile and incorrigible childhood lifestyle that resulted in him being placed in Baltimore's St. Mary's Industrial School for Boys. No doubt, Ruth held a "soft-spot" for virtually any youth, justifying why he typically would sign autographs or simply spend time speaking with any group of fascinated kids. This magnificent photo issued during what appears to be the early 1920's depicts the "Bambino" donning his dapper attire and straw hat as he stands on a bench addressing a seemingly infinite number of young aspiring fans. The "Babe" actually reveals a heart-felt boyish grin himself, and the borderless image emanates brilliant contrast and clarity. Measuring approximately 7" x 9", only a few negligible stray wrinkles exist, with the only notable flaw being a diminutive area of missing paper stock along the upper left edge. A "unique-like" photo to say the least, it conjures up memories of how the "Sultan of Swat" captivated an entire nation via his unprecedented and momentous batting feats that especially left America's young boys and girls spellbound for years to come!
