Nathaniel Clifton Signed GPC - 1st to Sign an NBA Contract PSA 7 NM
This Government Postcard has been signed by Sweetwater Clifton, one of the 1st black players to have played a game in the NBA yet he was the FIRST to sign an NBA contract. Nathaniel Clifton was also a talented baseball player and in the off season played for the American Giants of the Negro Leagues. At that time he was also playing with the Harlem Globetrotters because he had such great dribbling skills and ball handling. This led to Clifton signing an NBA contract with the NY Knicks where he played his first game on November 4th, 1950. On February 14, 2014, Clifton was announced as a 2014 inductee by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. PSA/DNA Authenticated.
