(LOT 445)
1915 Cracker Jack #35 Harry Hooper (PSA NM/MT 8)

One of the most illustrious pre-WWI sets continues to be the 1914 and 1915 Cracker Jack issues, with its related subjects available in the popular boxes of caramel corn treats. Presented here is an outstanding Harry Hooper 1915 Cracker Jack residing in a PSA NM/MT 8 holder, with only 4 examples graded higher! Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer Harry Hooper teamed up with Tris Speaker to establish one of the most formidable outfields of the "dead ball" era. While more noted for his defensive prowess, Hooper still managed to accumulate almost 2,500 lifetime hits and was voted into the Hall of Fame in 1971.

His classic "ready to field the ball" pose provides vivid clarity and virtually perfect contrast, set against a brilliant fire engine red and cool green grass backdrop. While the image does reveal an "ever-so-slight" tilt towards the upper right edge, the dazzling white borders, sharp/90-degree corners, and immaculate-like surfaces more than offset this minor centering imperfection. The PSA "Pop" chart clearly indicates that finding a near Mint Harry Hooper 1915 Cracker Jack is an excruciating chore, to say the least, with this seldom surfacing "PSA 8" museum worthy masterpiece meriting a final resting place in any esteemed Cracker Jack gathering!
