1963 World Series - Sandy Koufax & Dodgers Win the 1963 World Series! – PSA Type l Encapsulated Wide World Photos – Measures Approx. 7" x 9"

This outstanding 7" x 9" photo from October 6, 1963 portrays Sandy Koufax about to jump into Dodger catcher Johnny Roseboro's arms after the final out of the 1963 World Series at Dodgers Stadium. Exhibiting near-perfect contrast and resolution, Koufax has just beaten the Yankees and Whitey Ford by a 2-1 score, with the Yankees only run that day coming on a mammoth 7th inning home run by none other than the legendary Mickey Mantle. Koufax would add 8 additional strikeouts in this clinching game to his game#1 15 "K" record breaking performance, and you can also see Maurey Wills about to join in on the championship celebration.

Incredibly, the Dodgers swept the Yankees in four straight games, and even more amazing was the fact that this was the inaugural time the Dodgers clinched a World Series title at home, with their next championship clinching moment not realized until 1988! The only notable obverse side flaws include some negligible red notations along the upper border, with the verso revealing the classic WIDE WORLD PHOTOS credit stamp. A superb heirloom from that renowned 1963 Fall Classic, it conjures up vivid memories of how the remarkable Sandy Koufax totally dominated the Yankees lineup to the tune of a 1.50 E.R.A. in two complete game victory performances and a sensational 23 strikeouts in only 18 innings pitched! - PSA Type I Encapsulation
