c.1914 Eddie Collins PSA Type I Encapsulated George Grantham Bain Photo – Measures Approx. 4" x 5"

This magnificent c.1914 Eddie Collins PSA Type 1 George Grantham Bain photo portrays the legendary Hall of Famer in a classic portrait pose. One of our National Pastime's greatest 2nd baseman ever, fortunately for the "clean-cut" immortal Hall of Famer, Eddie Collins took no part in the devastating 1919 Black Sox conspiracy that still stands as the ultimate "black mark" on our National Pastime. The great Collins is donning his classic Athletics uniform from 1914, the ninth consecutive season he would play with Connie Mack's A's before being traded to the Chicago White Sox before the 1915 season. Collins would enjoy 12 stellar seasons in the "Windy City" before rejoining Mack's Philadelphia Club for his final four MLB seasons. His stoic portrayal reveals fine clarity and a somewhat darker contrast that effectively provides a true vintage luster to this George Grantham Bain marvel that includes the bold white "COLLINS" name affixed to the upper right edge.

Some extremely faint surface scratches and an upper right corner chip render virtually zero negative impact on this offering's breathtaking eye appeal, with the flipside reflecting the typical Culver Service Credit Caption (for a Bain photo) as well as a DEC 9 - 1914 stamp. It is no secret that along with Hornsby and Lajoie, Collins is regarded as one of the finest 2nd sackers of all-time. His statistical achievements make a strong case for this argument including a staggering .333 lifetime average accumulated via 3,315 safeties. Collins was also a complete player, widely regarded as the best fielding 2nd baseman of his era, and was a fantastic base runner, swiping 741 bases throughout a spectacular 25-year career. That said, what could be more rewarding than capturing one of his most imposing illustrations that just happens to be the handiwork of the iconic George Grantham Bain! - PSA Type I Encapsulation
