(LOT 332)
"Unique for the Grade" 1954 Bowman #161 Yogi Berra (PSA Gem Mint 10) – "1 of 1": The SOLE Highest Graded Example!

One of the most significant Yogi Berra cards extant, this "unique for the grade" PSA Gem Mint 10 1954 Bowman offering of the Hall of Fame catcher just happens to stand as the one and only example at this hallowed plateau! Indeed, standing at the peak of the illustrious PSA "Pop Chart", its hallowed "10" assessment has amazingly managed to elude roughly 1,300 other inferior PSA encapsulated copies.

The legendary Yogi Berra is arguably considered the greatest catcher of all-time (along with Johnny Bench), and it would take virtually a full catalog to appropriately list all of his remarkable achievements. Highly noted for his clutch performances on baseball's grandest stages, Berra's World Series records include: 14 appearances, 10 championships, 75 games played in and 71 all-time hits. If that isn't enough, he won 3 MVP awards and played in a remarkable 15 all-star games. Along with the immortal Mickey Mantle, he was the main cog on a Yankee team that played in a majority of the Fall Classics from the late 1940's through the early 1960's.

All of the above are a steadfast testament to Berra's all-time stature, justifying why a myriad of elite collectors' scramble to obtain his finest existing artifacts. That in mind, we simply cannot imagine any of his highly-coveted cardboard keepsakes being more exalted than this truly "one of a kind" offering that has stubbornly defied "Father-Time" over the past 65 years! One of Berra's most popular images, his good-natured grinning pose literally "jumps-off" the card via the seemingly unimprovable clarity and abundance of sparkling hues.

Near-perfect centering, razor-sharp right-angled corners, a gleaming and flawless like obverse side surface and super clean verso are the final exclamation points for this "one and only" museum worthy masterpiece. Of significant note to all advanced enthusiasts, when you engage in the bidding process for this pinnacle "1 of 1" marvel, please keep in mind one of Berra's cornerstone "Yogisms" during the assumed excruciating bidding war that will most likely take place: "It ain't over till it's over!"
