(LOT 5)
Magnificent "PSA/DNA NM/MT 8" Jimmie Foxx Single Signed Official N.L. Warren Giles Baseball!

It is no secret that Jimmie Foxx single-signed baseballs are extremely scarce, let alone one that arguably stands as one of the finest of its kind. Such is the case for this extraordinary Official N.L. Warren Giles horsehide sphere that sports one of the most remarkable Jimmie Foxx green fountain pen scripts extant! Amazing to say the least, the bold "Jimmie" Foxx green penned signature has "conservatively" graded a PSA NM/MT 8 and it is visibly clear that this script could have arguably captured the ultra-elusive "Mint 9" grade. Literally "jumping off the ball, the Foxx autograph is large and vivid, with the ball itself grading a rather harsh "7" due to ever so slight toning.

The overall aesthetics are so imposing, PSA applied a "half-grade bump to the ball, a PSA policy only utilized for signed baseballs that truly "Pop" such as this museum worthy masterpiece. Magnificently preserved for approximately 60 years, no glaring flaws are evident on the smooth horsehide surface and the tight red stitching appears to carry the same attributes as its original factory issued date. One of the most highly coveted and elusive single-signed balls extant, 500-HR autograph seekers are clearly aware of the excruciatingly painful task of capturing one with brilliant aesthetics. Only Mel Ott single-signed baseballs present a more daunting challenge to locate, with this Foxx offering only three years ago selling for nearly $36,000 at a public auction. Regarding the man himself, immortal Hall of Famer slugger Jimmie Foxx dominated our National Pastime from the batter's box at a level far superior to virtually all of his peers.

Along with Rogers Hornsby and Hank Aaron, most baseball historians consider Foxx one of the three greatest right-handed hitters ever. His .325 lifetime batting average, 1,921 RBIs, 534 homeruns, 1933 Triple Crown and incredible 13 consecutive seasons of 100+ RBIs substantiate this notion and solidify his remarkable legacy. Only Lou Gehrig achieved such a feat, and it is with little surprise he was nicknamed "The Beast" due to his unparalleled power that once launched a home run into Yankee Stadium's left field upper deck. Synonymous with that ultra-popular nickname, "Double X's" breathtaking signature on the sweet spot of this exalted baseball likewise stands as a "beast" of its own; arguably claiming bragging rights as one of the finest Jimmie Foxx scripted baseballs on the planet! – PSA/DNA NM/MT 8 LOA/Full JSA LOA
