c.1950/'51 Roy Campanella Image used for his 1951 Bowman Card - PSA Type I Team Issued Photo - Measures Approx. 8" x 10" - PSA Type 1 Encapsulation

This iconic 8' x 10" Brooklyn Dodger Team Issued photo is the EXACT image utilize for Roy Campanella's legendary 1951 Bowman #31 Subject! Designated as an original first generation (Type 1) by PSA for ironclad authenticity, it stands as one of "Campy's" foremost illustrations, for it is no secret that Type 1 photos used for a player's original baseball card are highly coveted and valuable in today's market. While the PSA label indicates "c.1950's", it is clearly obvious that this hallowed offering must have been issued in either 1950 or in the beginning of the calendar year 1951, since it was required for the 1951 Bowman #31 Campanella subject released in the spring of that same year.

Due to his tragic car accident that left Dodger's immortal catcher Roy Campanella paralyzed for life, there is an unquestionable sentiment and desirability for his revered artifacts. Winner of three MVP awards in a brief but outstanding career, Campanella defined the embodiment of courage, and along with Jackie Robinson, was the inspirational leader of the great 1950's Brooklyn Dodger teams. This exalted image emanates breathtaking eye appeal, starting with the crystal-clear clarity and virtually perfect contrast. The sanctified pose of Campanella discarding his period-style mask for a "foul-popup" with the classic stadium backdrop simply send chills down one's spine.

Add the fact that this imposing image is virtually "dead-centered" between four bright white borders, as well as the surfaces eluding any glaring flaws over the past 70 years, and you can understand why this suffices as a somewhat miraculous photo. The final exclamation point is a relatively clean verso that includes the Dodger's team issue credit stamp. One of the most formidable Roy Campanella images extant via its remarkable aesthetics and direct link to Campy's 1951 Bowman subject, it clearly merits serious the utmost attention from any sophisticated photo enthusiast! – PSA Type I Encapsulation
