(LOT 29)
1903 E107 Breisch Williams Charlie Jones "Type 1" (SGC VG 3) – "1 of 1" & The Highest Graded Example on the COMBINED SGC & PSA "Pop" Charts!

Trying to find a Charlie Jones E107 subject is similar to the iconic expression "trying to find a needle in a haystack". Currently, PSA has not encapsulated a single Jones specimen, with SGC only grading a meager six examples. That said, we are round to present one of those few SGC E107 Charlie Jones subjects, a formidable VG 3 marvel that just happens to reside as the SOLE and finest graded example on the planet! The light-hitting outfielder was demoted to the Denver Grizzlies club of the Single A Western League before the end of the 1901 season. Thus, his appearance on this E107 offering is miraculous in itself for he wasn't even a member of the MLB Bo-Sox when the prestigious Bresich-Williams Company issued their landmark 1903 set.

His Carl Horner pose portrays near-immaculate resolution and depicts only a slightly light contrast. Fine centering, even corner wear and no glaring surface blemishes all contribute to the excellent aesthetics, with the verso revealing the standard E107 "One of a hundred and fifty prominent Baseball players" text and some negligible toning. The irrefutable "best of the rest" Charlie Jones E107 subject, it also resides as one of the few cardboard offerings the hobby has to offer of this by-gone player who never saw MLB action again after the 1908 season.
