(LOT 782)
T206 Broad Leaf 460 Frank "Home Run" Baker (SGC 10/1) - One of Only 4 Encapsulated Copies on the COMBINED SGC & PSA "Pop" Charts!

Hall of Famer Frank Baker achieved both immortality and his iconic "Home Run" nickname when he belted home runs on successive days in the 1911 World Series against future Cooperstown inductees Rube Marquard and Christy Mathewson. Synonymous with his consistent "on the field" achievements is this amazing T206 Broad Leaf 460 offering virtually never surfaces for the taking. One of only 4 listed copies on the COMBINED SGC and PSA "pop" charts, Broad Leaf 460 T206 subjects for any player are near-impossible to find, let alone one that represents a superior Cooperstown inductee.

The prestigious T206 museum currently lists a Broad Leaf 460 subject as the 3rd scarcest T206 ad back, only behind the illustrious Ty Cobb w/a Ty Cobb back and Brown Old Mill. Its rarity level surpasses the ever elusive "Brown Lenox", Drum and UZIT cigarette advertisements, justifying why this Frank Baker marvel merits the highest hobby accolades. True, while various areas of soiling, scattered wrinkles, some perimeter/edge chipping and the verso's spotted paper loss all contribute to the accurate assessment, the sheer existence of this Frank Baker Broad Leaf 460 rarity far surpasses any condition related issues.

Obviously removed from a scrapbook at some point in time, fortunately for its potential new owner, the critical Broad Leaf 460 print still remains legible, even in lieu of the various surface abrasions encompassing the hallowed verbiage. A possible "once in a lifetime" opportunity, we highly advise the sophisticated T206 collector to capture this ultra-scarce "Home Run" Baker tobacco artifact since it might be quite some time before the next one comes along!
