(LOT 244)
"Rare for the Grade" T206 Polar Bear Johnny Evers "w/Bat; Chicago on Shirt" (PSA NM 7) - "1 of 1"; None Graded Higher on the COMBINED PSA & SGC "Pop" Charts"!

Due to serious staining issues, rarely do high-grade T206 Polar Bear specimens surface, substantiating why this "best of the rest" PSA 7 Johnny Evers Polar Bear "w/Bat; Chicago on Shirt" offering suffices as one of the most miraculous tobacco cards extant! Indeed, the COMBINED SGC and PSA census reports reveal that not a SINGLE OTHER Evers Polar Bear exists at this stratospheric level with NONE graded higher, making it the pinnacle encapsulated copy on the planet!

Every baseball purist is all too familiar with the iconic "Tinker to Evers to Chance" double-play combination that spearheaded the Cubs to their last 2 championships in 1907 and 1908. Simply stated, Johnny Evers was an unquestionable "winner", also leading the 1914 miracle Boston Braves to a world championship. Synonymous with Evers winning ways is this highest graded T206 cardboard champion that has miraculously retained many of its original pristine-like attributes.

The "Chicago on Shirt" likeness of the star 2nd sacker portrays a superior "pack-fresh" image via the seemingly flawless Evers batting pose affixed to a radiant like yellow/green setting. Relatively fine centering, bright white borders, and an atypical clean Polar Bear verso are the final exclamation points for a Polar Bear tobacco card that due to its pinnacle "Pop Chart" stature, resides as one of the most amazing T206 specimens extant!
