1888 N28 Allen & Ginter Tim Keefe (PSA 8 NM/MT) - NONE Graded Higher!
The ultra-attractive 1888 Allen & Ginter cards were distributed in packs of Allen & Ginter cigarettes and included ten baseball players as well as other popular figures of the day (e.g., Annie Oakley, John Sullivan, Buffalo Bill Cody, etc.), with a total of 50 different subjects portrayed in brilliant color lithographic images. Presented here is one of baseball's legendary Hall of Famer pitchers, Tim Keefe in an outstanding PSA 8 holder. Currently, PSA has encapsulated approximately 180 Keefe examples with only ten others at this hallowed tier and NONE graded higher!

The Allen & Ginter cards are highly desirable 19th century baseball collectibles as they included some of our National Pastime's most prominent 19th century Hall of Famers including Anson, Keefe, Clarkson, Kelly, Ward, Comiskey, etc. The offered example, Hall of Famer Tim Keefe, via his 342 lifetime wins just might be the finest 19th century pitcher to ever toe a rubber. One of the earliest change-up artists, Keefe won over 40 games twice, and in 1883 happened to win both games of a doubleheader including a one-hitter in the morning and a two-hitter in the afternoon!

His immaculate pitching pose portrays superior red and beige/off-white colors with vivid contrast as he prepares to unleash another one of his Hall of Fame pitches. The image is set against a literally blinding white background that ends at four pinpoint corners and razor sharp edges. A "blazer" to say the least, over the past 128 years it has stubbornly defied "father time", miraculously retaining virtually all of its original pristine factory issued attributes!
