(LOT 37)
1963 Topps #390 Hank Aaron (PSA Mint 9) - Only One Example Graded Higher!

In 1963, for the second of three times in his incomparable career, the immortal Henry Aaron would lead the Senior Circuit in both home runs (44) and runs batted in (130), while posting a scintillating .319 batting average! It is apropos that he enjoyed one of his finest seasons during a year that Topps released one of their most colorful and popular issues. Extremely desirable due to the abundance of well-focused images and black & white player poses within a colorful circle, high-grade examples are tough to come by due to a myriad of skewed images and factory issued printer defects/marks especially within the lower right colored circles.

That said, this magnificent PSA Mint 9 offering that has only been bested by a SOLE copy defies the aforementioned stigmas via its virtually perfect centering as well as the blemish free lower right autumn orange circle and affixed black & white Aaron batting pose. Rarely is even the advanced collector afforded the opportunity of obtaining such an immaculate 1963 specimen of the immortal Henry Aaron that also reflects pinpoint corners, snow white borders and gleaming surfaces. In closing, no wonder the "Hammerin Hank" Collection stands as the finest PSA Registered Aaron compilation with subjects like this 1963 marvel justifying its rightful number one standing!
