Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball Including an Amazing Image of its c.1946/1947 Signing! - Full PSA/DNA LOA
Every so often, an athlete is "touched" with a higher level of greatness setting them apart from their peers, with their level of excellence more than life allows. Such is the case for George Herman Ruth who irrefutably stands as our National Pastime's greatest player. Simply stated, the "Bambino's unparalleled accomplishments have set the bar for any professional baseball player, with his coupled diamond excellence and dynamic charisma placing him as the ultimate idol of a seemingly infinite number of aspiring young ballplayers. Such was the case for our esteemed consignor who has decided to finally part with this extraordinary single signed Babe Ruth baseball that has been in his family for 70 years!

In approximately 1947 (possibly '46), our consignor's parents attended a New Jersey prize fight along with other New Jersey dignitaries. Ecstatic to say the least, his parents just happened to meet the "Sultan of Swat" at the event with Ruth, gracious as always, signing the non-official baseball presented in this auction. Just as impressive is that an on-site photo was taken that includes both of the consignor's parents situated behind the "Babe". His mom is the lady two rows directly behind Ruth sporting a nice sun tan (they would vacation in Florida many times), wearing a white outfit with her head slightly tilted, while dad is wearing a white suit looking somewhat to his left.

Amazingly, both the baseball and photo have retained outstanding visual appeal, with the hallowed "Babe Ruth" blue fountain pen ultra-large script situated on the sweet spot and emanating solid "7" strength. We cannot even imagine how many times, a fan's life was touched forever due to receiving a Babe Ruth heirloom, and such was the case for our consignor who steadfastly claims that his passion for the New York Yankees originated directly after his parents handed him this magnificent keepsake. While Ruth signed baseballs are not rare, single signed specimens associated with a unique story and accompanied by a picture from the event are few and far between. No signed Ruth collectible is more heralded than a single-signed horsehide-sphere, and this remarkable offering literally transcends time, effectively placing the enthusiast 70 years back in time to the boxing event that prompted the origin of this "Ruthian" memento.

For ironclad authenticity, we have included both a full PSA/DNA LOA as well as a notarized letter of provenance from our consignor who sincerely hopes that the baseball's future owner is likewise captivated by its irrefutable origin and iconic Babe Ruth script.
