(LOT 71)
T206 Keeler "Portrait" – Sweet Caporal 150 Subjects (PSA 7) - "1 of 2" PSA Listed Sweet Caps; NO PSA Listed Sweet Caps Graded Higher"!

Legendary Hall of Famer Wee Willie Keeler coined the phrase "hit 'me where they isn't", and ironically, his breathtaking PSA 7 Sweet Caporal 150 Subjects gem presented here "isn't" often found with this being "1 of 2" and the highest graded Sweet Cap specimen listed on the PSA census report! Keeler was one of the best line drive hitters in baseball history. Owner of almost 3,000 lifetime hits and a .343 lifetime batting average, his statistics are synonymous with his famous "hit 'me where they isn't" and "keep your eye on the ball" quotes. He is one of the few great ballplayers that enjoyed Cooperstown worthy statistics in both the 19th and 20th centuries and his cardboard artifacts are highly sought after by advanced collectors.

Amazingly, this offering has virtually passed through a century of time without any disturbance to the classic Carl Horner portrait image, somehow retaining virtually all of its original brilliance. Safe to say, this resides as one of the most impressive Keller portrait T206 we have ever encountered as you can virtually feel the immortal presence of this iconic dead-ball ear star. Adding to the incredible eye appeal is the flawless rich olive green setting, right-angled corners, blistering sharp edges, snow white borders and relatively clean surfaces. No advanced T206 enthusiast would argue that this Keeler T206 portrait "blazer" presents itself as a grand opportunity to capture an extremely tough T206 Cooperstown inductee at the hallowed near mint assessment!
