1933-34 Hamilton Gum #17 King Clancy SGC 88 NM/MT 8
ONE AND ONLY!!!… In 1933 O-Pee-Chee fairly commanded the market as they played on the public's lust for hockey in Canada. But, just as concerns emulated Goudey in the U.S., so too did there competition to O-Pee-Chee. One of them was an obscure producer called Hamilton Gum, and in 1933 they released a 21-subject hockey issue. Probably due to distributional impediments, their effort was short-lived, and Hamilton Gum quickly evaporated. The set is recognized to be complete at 21 different, though the issue is skip-numbered. The offered example is the one and only SGC 88 of King Clancy with nothing grading higher. Well centered, gorgeous color, this card merits its high grade.
