HIGHEST GRADED!!! With a lifetime .356 average, the legacy of Joe Jackson simply can't be ignored. This 1940 Play Ball issue is as nice as we have ever offered. The offered card, from its issue's scarce high-number series, was produced exactly 20 years after Commissioner Landis found Jackson and the other Black Sox guilty of throwing the 1919 World Series. Unfortunately for modern collectors, few vintage cards of Joe Jackson were produced and virtually all are very expensive in strong grades. This 1940 Play Ball card offers the collector a high grade Jackson card that constitutes a relative bargain in comparison to some of his earlier collectibles. The item exhibits four sharp corners and is remarkably clean with only light toning. Highest graded example in the hobby.
